Supporter2025/40 Helpline Supporter

Course Title: Supporter 2025/40

Number of places available: 12

Course start date: 17.03.2025

Course end date: 30.09.2025

Day and time of sessions: Monday 6-8pm

Assignments to be completed by: TBA

Course venue: Online via zoom or teams

Closing date for applications: 04.02.2025

Proposed interview date (if applicable): 13.02.2025

DBS/PVG required: Yes (BfN will arrange this at no cost to volunteers)

Course information: We are currently looking for volunteers interested in volunteering on the National Breastfeeding Helpline. We are looking for people who can make a commitment to take a minimum of two calls per week. This is a minimum of between 1 and 2 hours to take the calls and complete the required records. When people have gained some experience volunteering on the helpline, some choose to volunteer via a regular social media shift or via webchat.

We are particularly keen to hear from people whose focus is helpline volunteering. This may be because it fits better around your other commitments, or you are not in an area where there are currently BfN projects running. Volunteering on the helpline is very flexible, but we currently have low coverage in the late afternoon/ early evening and during weekends and so availability at these times would be welcomed.

All applicants should have completed the BfN helper course.
