Course information: We are training a cohort of Breastfeeding Network peer supporter volunteers to support families living in the Borough of Lambeth as part of our commissioned Breastfeeding Peer Support Service.
Trainees are expected to complete the course, and following registration with the Breastfeeding Network, volunteers are expected to offer at least 4 hours a month supporting at our community groups. To maintain registration with the Breastfeeding Network, volunteers must attend regular supervision sessions and complete mandatory training as required
We prioritise trainees who live or work in the borough and welcome trainee ethnicities that reflect the diversity of the borough.
Applicants must have some lived experience of breastfeeding and/or expressing.
Any trainees requiring a creche place for their child aged 6 months-3 years will need to attend a stay and play session at Benton’s Lane before the course starts to help them and their child settle in before the first in-person session on 26/11.
Limited creche places are available for babies over 6 months and up to 3 years for in-person sessions 4 & 8 at Benton’s Lane Children’s Centre.
Creche places are subject to trainees attending a stay and play session with their child in advance of the first in-person session on 26/11 to help their child settle in and be familiar with the activity room and creche team. Babes in arms, under 6 months, are welcome at the in-person session
