Course information:

We are delighted to have joined with Oswestry Community Action (Qube) to offer training for volunteers who will run breastfeeding peer support groups across Shropshire.  Places on the course will be allocated to people who live in Shropshire (excluding Telford & Wrekin) and who are able to volunteer in Shropshire regularly. Whilst groups currently run in Ludlow (Tuesday mornings), Shrewsbury (Monday mornings) and Oswestry (Wednesday mornings), further areas may be considered to expand the service. There are also opportunities to volunteer within the community at established groups and drop-in services.

NOTE: If you live in Telford, please see our dedicated service details here for more information about peer support in Telford & Wrekin https://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/project/telfordandwrekin/

You may find it helpful to visit a group before applying to help you understand more about the work our volunteers do, but this is not a formal pre-requisite.  More info about groups can be found here: https://qube-oca.org.uk/infant-feeding-peer-support-service/
On successful completion of the course, you will gain a level 2 Open College Network qualification & become a registered Breastfeeding Network Volunteer.

There are no qualifications needed to apply, you just need to have experience of breastfeeding/ chest feeding your baby/babies, this can include pumping.
