Course Title: Helpers2025/53 (Southampton)

Number of places available: 12

Course start date: 11th September 2025

Course end date: 11th December 2025

Day and time of sessions: Thursday 10am – 12 noon

The course will run Thursdays 10am-12pm from 11th September to 11th December 2025. There will be 12 sessions including one face to face session & all others online via group video calls.  

Assignments to be completed by: TBC

Course venue: There will be 12 sessions including one face to face session & all others online via group video calls.  Venue of Face to Face TBC.

Closing date for applications: 22nd July 2025

Proposed interview date (if applicable):12th August 2025

DBS/PVG required: Yes (BfN will arrange this at no cost to volunteers)

Course information:
Would you like to join our team and volunteer for The Breastfeeding Network Southampton?
The course will run Thursdays 10am-12pm from 11th September to 11th December 2025. There will be 12 sessions including one face to face session & all others online via group video calls.  On successful completion of the course, you will gain a level 2 Open College Network qualification & become a registered Breastfeeding Network Volunteer.
The course is free.
Children up to the age of 5 may join you if required.
In return we ask you to regularly volunteer for at least one year within the community of Southampton City (SO14-SO19) and/or on the maternity wards at Princess Anne Hospital.

There are no qualifications needed to apply, you just need to have experience of breastfeeding/ chest feeding /body feeding your baby/babies, this can include pumping.

Volunteering is within the area of postcodes SO14-SO19.  This includes volunteer opportunities within the maternity wards at Princess Anne Hospital.
