Course Title: Helpers (Glasgow City)

Number of places available: 12

Course start date: 29/05/2023

Course end date: 31/10/2023

Day and time of sessions: To be confirmed. Sessions may be daytime (in school hours) or evenings.

Duration: 2 hours per week over 14 weeks with a mix of group sessions using Zoom and/or Teams and individual work on our online BfN training site.  There is likely to be some time off over the summer holidays depending on the needs of the trainees and the tutor. 

Assignments to be completed by: 30/09/2023

Course venue: Online using Zoom and/or Teams and the BfN training site.

Closing date for applications: 09/05/2023

Proposed interview date (if applicable): Online (Zoom) week commencing 15/05/2023

PVG required: Yes (BfN will arrange this at no cost to volunteers)

Course information: We are looking to train new peer support volunteers in the Glasgow City area.  Once training is completed volunteers will be able to support mums and parents at face to face groups. There will also be opportunities to offer 1:1 support to local mums via the phone and to volunteer on the hospital wards.  Priority for places on the course will be given to women who live in South Glasgow, North East Glasgow and North West Glasgow, women from Black and minority ethnic communities and younger mums (under 25).  If you feel you meet this criteria and wish this to be considered, please ensure you include this in your application.
