Helper2023/17 Gloucestershire – closing date extended to 30/10/2022

Course Title: Helpers (Gloucestershire)

Number of places available: 12

Course start date: 11/11/2022

Course end date: 10/02/2023

Day and time of sessions: Fridays 10am-12pm:

  • 11th November
  • 25th November
  • 2nd December
  • 16th December
  • 13th January
  • 27th January
  • 10th February 

Duration: 7x 2 hour sessions via Zoom video call as detailed above and online work in your own time using the BfN training site on the other weeks

Assignments to be completed by: 24/02/2023

Course venue: Zoom video call and online work using the BfN training site

Closing date for applications: extended to 30/10/2022 (was 25/10/2022)

Proposed interview date (if applicable): 8pm on Wednesday 02/11/2022.  Applicants progressed to interview will receive interview invites on Monday 31/10/2022 and no further interview dates will be possible, so we ask that you apply only if you will be available for the advertised course dates and this interview date, due to the very tight turnaround required for the planned course start.

DBS required: Yes (BfN will arrange this at no cost to volunteers)

Course information:
Upon qualifying, trainees must be able to commit time to regularly volunteering at a face-to-face support group.  Qualified trainees must attend ongoing supervision and learning once a month to maintain BfN registration.

In order to best meet local needs and support future planning, applications for those who will volunteer in Gloucester City and Newent may be prioritised and the application form will ask you to indicate if this applies to you.
