Helper2023/14 Glasgow City Helpers – closing date extended to 23/08/2022

Course Reference: Helper2023/14

Course Title: Glasgow City Helpers 

Number of places available: 12

Course start date: Week beginning 12/09/2022

Course end date: Week beginning 23/01/2023

Day and time of sessions: Course will be on either Monday or Thursday daytime

Duration: 13x2hour weekly Zoom sessions (1 introduction and 12 training sessions) 

Assignments to be completed by: 30/01/2023

Course venue: The course will be delivered via Zoom with the possibility of there being 1 face to face session depending on tutor and trainee preferences.  

Closing date for applications: Extended to 23/08/2022

Proposed group info session and interview date: 29/08/2022

PVG required: Yes (BfN will arrange this at no cost to volunteers)

Course information:
This course is to train volunteers who can then offer 1:1 phone support to new parents in the Glasgow City area.  There may also be opportunities to volunteer at face to face groups and on hospital wards.

Priority for places on this training course will be given to people who live in the Glasgow City area, those from Black and minority ethnic communities and also trainees who speak additional languages and would be willing to support new mums in languages other than English.  If this applies to you, please detail this within your application to assist us with shortlisting.
