Helper 2025/54 Southampton (Thursdays)

Course Title: Helpers 2025/54 Southampton

Number of places available: 12

Course start date: 05/06/2025

Course end date: 21/08/2025

Day and time of sessions: Thursdays 1-3pm (except 3rd July in-person 12-2pm)

Assignments to be completed by: TBC

Course venue: Online via Zoom, with 1 session face to face in a local family hub.

Closing date for applications: Tuesday May 6th 2025

Proposed interview date (if applicable): Week commencing 12th May

DBS/PVG required: Yes (BfN will arrange this at no cost to volunteers)

Course information: Would you like to join our team and volunteer for The Breastfeeding Network Southampton?

The course will run weekly on Thursdays afternoons, 1-3pm from 5th June to 21st August online with one in person session in Southampton. The in-person session will be on 3rd July at 12noon to 2pm at a Family Hub in Southampton.

On successful completion of the course, you will gain a level 2 Open College Network qualification & become a registered Breastfeeding Network Volunteer.

The course is free.

Children up to the age of 5 may join you if required, in-person and online.

In return we ask you to regularly volunteer on the maternity wards at Princess Anne Hospital and/or within the community of Southampton City (SO14-SO19).

There are no qualifications needed to apply, you just need to have some experience of breastfeeding/ chestfeeding your baby/babies, this can include pumping.
