PEER SUPPORT SERVICE

Haringey

Haringey Infant Feeding Peer Support Service

Haringey Council Public Health commission The Breastfeeding Network charity to provide free, non-judgemental, evidence based baby feeding information to all Haringey families.

Our friendly peer support team can help with breastfeeding, expressing, bottle feeding, weaning from the breast and introducing solids. We support babies, toddlers, and small children, alongside your Health Visitor relationship.

All Haringey families are welcome to access our free service. We will support you in your feeding choices.

How to train with us

Our volunteers have undertaken one of two levels of training designed for parents who have breastfed, to become registered BfN (Breastfeeding Network) volunteers. All our peer support training is accredited and delivered by trained BfN tutors.

If you are interested in volunteering with our service, please get in touch with us! Our training is open to all women who have personal experience of breastfeeding their own babies.  It is open to mothers of all ages and backgrounds, to enable them to widen their knowledge, skills and experience to support breastfeeding within their communities or remotely.  We are committed to promoting equality and diversity and to eliminating discrimination in our training and coordination of volunteers.

Please find more information here: https://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/get-involved/train-to-be-a-registered-volunteer/

Please contact us at the email address above if you would like to discuss joining.

How to feedback

Our online service evaluation actively welcomes feedback. Please complete this short survey to help us maintain, improve, and expand the service.

The Breastfeeding Network charity as a whole also runs a yearly evaluation survey. The link for this will be posted below when the survey is live.

Our team

Our friendly and experienced breastfeeding supporters offer information and support to Haringey families before and after they have had their baby. We are a relatively small team of part time staff and volunteers who are incredibly proud to offer their time to the families they support.
