PEER SUPPORT SERVICE

Islington

You can always find the latest information and updates at www.facebook.com/breastfeedingislington/ or get in touch by phone or email and we’ll get back to you within 24 hours during the working week (020 3316 8439 / whh-tr.IslingtonBreastfeedingPeerSupport@nhs.net)

Hospital

Islington Breastfeeding & Weaning Peer Support Service has a team of friendly and experienced Breastfeeding Supporters and Helpers supporting Islington parents and babies every day in the postnatal wards at both the Whittington Hospital and UCLH.

Community

We also contact mums on discharge from hospital to offer telephone support in the first few days at home with your baby.

We run friendly and welcoming breastfeeding drop in groups across the borough each week where you can just turn up and see a breastfeeding supporter, and meet other mums and babies. You can find your nearest group by clicking here.  We can also sometimes offer home visits to mums who find it hard to get to a group in the early days.  One to one appointments are also available in the community for families with particular needs.

Check out our Facebook page to view our regular timetable and other information.  Details of upcoming antenatal workshops can be found by clicking here.

Additionally we have Peer Supporters working alongside the health visiting teams at some of the weekly local baby clinics.

For more information on the service, or to find your nearest group please call 020 3316 8439.
