Breastfeeding drop-in groups (formally known as Baby Café’s) offer informal, friendly breastfeeding support and information to mums in a safe and comfortable environment, mostly in Children Centres and Health Centres across the borough.

Trained volunteer breastfeeding peer supporters work alongside qualified professionals, such as Health Visitors, to answer any questions and offer support to breastfeeding mums and families.

Currently, there are 6 drop-in venues across the borough which offer breastfeeding volunteer peer support, which are run alongside health professionals.  Other voluntary led only breastfeeding support is also available.

Breastfeeding support and information is also provided by volunteers on the post-natal ward of Lewisham Hospital.
