Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator (Stoke on Trent)

Salary: £13.19

Number of Posts: 1 (hours can be shared)

Type of Contract: Fixed Term until 31/08/2025 (with potential to be extended depending on funding)

Start Date: March 2025

Hours of Work: 14 per week

Working Pattern: To be spread over at least 3 days – occasional evening or weekend work may be required if attending local events and to be available to volunteers at a time to suit them

Work Location: Remote with a weekly requirement to travel to groups in Stoke on Trent

Responsible to: Service Manager

Job Information: BfN have provided the breastfeeding peer support service in Stoke on Trent since 2020. The recent addition of Better Start funding has led to the growth of our service reach and activities. The Volunteer Coordinator will take over from the incumbent with a full handover, and ensure volunteers feel supported and encouraged. They will encourage partnership working with a focus on working alongside local Health Professionals. The VC will oversee the work of the local Volunteers and BfN Tutor/Supervisor and will look after the general day to day workings of the volunteer service including organising training courses, recruitment and retention of volunteers, DBS completion, mandatory training, rotas, data collection, reporting and launching new breastfeeding drop in groups and activities. The VC will be a key figure in attending and contributing to local groups/meetings, alongside the Service Manager. See job description for full information.
