Job Title: Peer Supporter (Dorset)

Salary: £12 per hour

Number of Posts: 1

Type of Contract: Fixed Term until 31/05/2025

Start Date: January 2025

Hours of Work: 6 hours per week

Working Pattern: 3 days per week – The role is to help run groups as follows: Mondays – Weymouth and Wareham alternating Thursdays – Dorchester with outreach to Bridport Other hours flexible to focus on support for young parents, including antenatal sessions.

Work Location: Home and dorset area

Responsible to: Service Manager

Closing Date: 07/01/2025

Job Information:We are looking for a breastfeeding peer supporter to provide breastfeeding peer support at our groups in Dorset (predominantly Weymouth, Wareham, Dorchester with outreach to Bridport) as well as focusing on support for young parents. This role involves providing breastfeeding support at groups and alongside health professionals across Dorchester, Wareham, Weymouth and Bridport areas, working closely with local volunteers to attend the breastfeeding groups, offering breastfeeding support over the phone, responding to Facebook messages and emails from parents seeking support, assisting with antenatal sessions, and assisting with the development of new groups and support initiatives aimed at young parents.
