Planning for Infant Feeding in Emergencies

The Breastfeeding Network is offering a new breastfeeding training course, designed for those involved in emergency preparedness and response. This new OCN-endorsed course can give you information on important considerations and tools to ensure that families and infant feeding is part of emergency planning and response.

‘Planning for Infant Feeding in Emergencies’ is an independent study online course and can be fit around busy schedules. Buying the course will give you access to the course materials for one year. This includes videos, links to outside sources, and interactive scenarios.

Does your role include consideration of emergency preparedness, resilience and response?  This course includes:

  • Why infant feeding is important to consider in emergency situations.
  • Providing for breastfed infants during emergency situations.
  • Providing for formula-fed infants during emergency situations.
  • Inequalities during emergency situations.
  • Other infant considerations during emergency situations, including sleep, complimentary foods, transport and evacuation.
  • UK gaps, standards, guidance and recommendations in relation to infant and young child feeding in emergencies.

This course amounts to four hours of CPD, not including reflective work.

‘Planning for Infant Feeding in Emergencies’ has been reviewed by individuals working in the emergency preparedness, resilience and response space.

Course price: £50.00
