Breastfeeding for Physicians

The Breastfeeding Network is offering a new breastfeeding training course, designed for medical practitioners. This new OCN-endorsed course can give you the skills and knowledge to support breastfeeding patients in a range of ways.

‘Breastfeeding for Physicians’ is an independent study online course, so it is particularly friendly to healthcare professionals’ busy schedules. Buying the course will give you access to the course materials for one year. This includes videos, links to outside sources, and interactive scenarios.

Do you currently work as a medical practitioner, and want to improve your skills and knowledge around supporting breastfeeding patients? This course includes:

  • Why should we promote breastfeeding?
  • Listening skills
  • How does breastfeeding work?
  • Assessing breastfeeding
  • Difficulties
  • Prescribing
  • Resources

This course amounts to four hours of CPD, not including reflective work.

‘Breastfeeding for Physicians’ has been reviewed by a wide range of doctors, both those specialised in breastfeeding, and those without specialist knowledge in the field. Drugs in Breastmilk specialised pharmacists reviewed the materials around prescribing.

Although this course is particularly intended for doctors, from a wide range of specialities, it could also be useful to other healthcare professionals who support breastfeeding patients.

Course price: £25.00

‘Breastfeeding for Physicians’ is now available in our shop.
