Application guidance and support

There can be a high level of interest from people who want to train with us but places on our courses are often limited.  In order to give yourself the best possible chance of being shortlisted please consider the following:

  • Refer to the Person Specification on the Role Description and make sure you include information which shows how you meet the Essential and Desirable criteria
  • Refer to the advert for the course for which you are applying as it may specify some additional requirements and make sure these are reflected in your application
  • Ensure that you complete all areas of the form as fully as possible
  • Application forms are anonymised before they are sent to the recruiting manager.  The manager will not see your name and selection for interview is only based on the information provided on the application form.  It is therefore really important that you include all relevant qualifications, skills, experience and any other relevant information on your application form.

If you have any problems or concerns about filling in the form please just let us know by emailing training@breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk or call us on 08444 120 995 and we will provide some support and guidance.

Conflict of Interest

At BfN, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage applications to our vacancies from all of those with relevant experience. Through our recruitment process we have to ensure that all Conflicts of Interest are managed using the guidance from our ‘Conflict of Interest’ policy. It is the responsibility of all individuals at BfN or applying to work within BfN to identify and seek to manage any possible conflict of interest whether it be through a paid role or a volunteer role. In order to manage any conflicts of interest, we request that you declare on your application form any potential conflicts as well as any relationships (family, personal) which you may have with directors, board members and other staff or volunteers. We will also be actively looking on Social media and the wider web to ensure that your public information is not conflicting with any views of the BfN, or seen to be negatively impacting the reputation of us as an organisation.

Equality and Diversity

The Breastfeeding Network is fully committed to providing equality of opportunity and encouraging applications from all candidates regardless of their background, beliefs, disability, gender, marital status or sexual orientation as set out in the BfN Equality and Diversity Policy.

GDPR

Please see the attached privacy notice which details how we will use your information and your rights under GDPR.  Please take time to read this important document.
