PEER SUPPORT SERVICE

Dorset

The Breastfeeding Network has been commissioned by Public Health Dorset since June 2022 to provide breastfeeding peer support services across Dorset, including Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

Our well trained peer supporters provide emotional support to parents and families from pregnancy to natural term weaning, exclusively breastfeeding, combi feeding or expressing. Peer supporters can also support parents with positioning and attachment and signpost parents to further information.  The peer supporters, who have all breastfed their own babies, play an important role in empowering new parents and helping them gain the confidence they need to breastfeed for as long as they wish.

Our service is continually growing and developing so please do check our social media (links below) for news and updates and details of any upcoming training.

Type of services available:

  • Groups – see the drop-in locator
  • Remote support via Zoom or social media
