Job Title: Community Peer Supporter (Ayrshire)

Salary: £12.60 per hour

Number of Posts: 2

Type of Contract: Fixed Term until 31/07/2029

Start Date: 01/08/2026

Hours of Work: 1 x 6 hour post, 1 x 3.5 hour post

Working Pattern:

6hr post – Mondays 9.45-11:45 and Tuesdays 10:15-12.15 to cover specific Tea and Tots groups in Kilbirnie and Irvine (Redburn). 0.5hrs prep during the week for planning an activity, picking up resources, buying refreshments, contacting visiting services etc, 1 hour per staff member for general admin each week – timesheets, meetings, mandatory training, social media etc.

3.5 hr post Hours will be Wednesday 10:15-12:15. 0.5hrs prep during the week for planning an activity, picking up resources, buying refreshments, contacting visiting services etc, 1 hour per staff member for general admin each week – timesheets, meetings, mandatory training, social media etc.

Work Location: Groups across North Ayrshire

Responsible to: Service Manager

Proposed Interview Date: 18/08/26 AM on Teams, or 19/08/26 Pm

Job Information: There are two a part time roles available running the weekly Tea and Tots peer support groups in Kilbirnie and Irvine, and Saltcoats. These groups offer peer support to all parents; however they are feeding their baby. This role will include managing the set up for the groups, welcoming parents and babies/toddlers and ensuring they feel included in the group, planning and running simple activities for parents and children on a regular basis, offering 1:1 peer support with breastfeeding, infant feeding and other relevant aspects of early parenting within the BfN boundaries. These groups and role are funded by The National Lottery.
