Job Title: Breastfeeding Peer Supporter

Salary: £12.60 per hour

Number of Posts: 1-3

Type of Contract: Fixed Term until 31/03/2026 (potential for extension)

Start Date: July 2025

Hours of Work: 10 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday – Thursdays in-person breastfeeding support – home visits and drop-in groups

Work Location: Sandwell Community (Ocassional home working)

Responsible to: Service Manager

Closing Date: 24/06/2025

Proposed Interview Date: Tuesday 24/06

Job Information: The Peer Supporter(s) will work for the BfN Sandwell peer support service delivering an integrated peer support programme offering breastfeeding support to all breastfeeding families living in Sandwell. Primary duties include providing community-based breastfeeding support in families’ homes and facilitating face-to-face drop-in groups (dependent on experience). The role may also include delivery of antenatal workshops and supporting HCPs in clinic settings. There may be a requirement for some home-based working for which access to a secure internet connection is required (i.e. 1-1 support over phone/video call, facilitating virtual drop-in groups and antenatal workshops). Most of the working hours will be between 9.30am – 2.30pm on weekdays, but there is the expectation that there will be occasional evening and weekend working required. The role may be job-shared – please state on your application which days/times you would be available and preferred number of hours.
