What is a Supporter?
BfN Registered Breastfeeding Supporters are mothers who have breastfed their babies. They have had training and continue to receive support, supervision and further training to maintain the quality of their work. Find out how to train as a BfN Supporter.
Your Supporter can:
- Give you information on breastfeeding before you have your baby
- Help you start and continue breastfeeding
- Listen if something troubles you
- Discuss, weaning, returning to work or moving on from breastfeeding
In some areas she may be involved in a Breastfeeding Centre. To find out if there is a centre in your area ring your local supporter on 0300 100 0210 or see our breastfeeding centre locator
Your local Supporter offers a free and confidential service and can be contacted through the BfN Supporterline on 0300 100 0210. Find out more about Supporterline
The Breastfeeding Network works collaboratively with Association of Breastfeeding Mothers on National Breastfeeding Helpline on 0300 100 0212.
