Changes to the BfN National Telephone Numbers (Sept 2007)

The Breastfeeding Network offers a national telephone helpline, called Supporterline, for breastfeeding mothers and their carers. Recent Ofcom (Office of Communications) changes to pricing structure of 0870 numbers mean these will no longer be economical for us to operate. As a result BfN’s telephone numbers will be changing to:-

Supporterline: 0844 412 4664

Drugline: 0844 412 4665

Administration line: 0844 412 0995

Calls provided by BT will be charged at 5 pence per minute. A call set-up fee of 3 pence per call applies to calls from BT residential lines. Mobile and other providers’ charges may vary.

The new numbers are now active and will be operating alongside the existing numbers for several months, depending how quickly callers start to use the new numbers, which will be closely monitored. After this time callers will receive a message alerting them to the number change.

All our printed materials, literature, merchandise and website will be updated with the new numbers in due course In addition to the above changes we are now providing a new service. We are delighted to announce the
